American McGee's Alice

American Mcgee's Alice

Alice in Wonderland makes a return, except everything is twisted around about 60 degrees. Twisted doesn't even begin to describe this game, all the environments are gloomy, bent, and broken, Alice can grow horns and her eyes turn red, attacking card guards with knives cuts them in half, etc. This game is unique with a capital U(would that also make the Q capital? 'UniQUe' Looks like Q3 l33t chat), Though some of the jumping puzzles are tedious with a capital T(nothing special there). Where should I begin? Oh yeah, with gameplay like I always do.

Gameplay:
Here's where I'm torn, with all the unique weapons resembling standard shooter weapons (throwing cards that work as a machine gun/shotgun combo) and then the fact that Alice only jumps straight up (doesn't sound like much but Good Lord...), I'd just have to rate it as somewhere in between. The puzzles are very strange and your goals are often times hazy at best, then there's my favorite puzzle where you play as certain chess pieces on a board full of pits and spikes (good stuff). We have a mixed bag here.

Graphics:
Best part of the game. Graphics don't usually make the game, but here's the exception to that rule. Weird environments, insane characters, cool weapon effects, etc. make this game what it is. Anyone who's a fan of Alice in Wonderland, personally I'm not, will love this game for the huge character personallity twists.

Sound:
Good voice acting If you don't mind english accents, if you do you're in for a long ride! I didn't notice much music, maybe that's because I have the warez version shhhhhh. So i guess I can't give you a complete analyzing of sound, but I tried.

Replay:
Long game, you'll be playing for at least 15 hours unless you have guide, in which case i wish you much, much harm.
