Weezer's summer tour is going to be their biggest one yet. On certain dates there will be up to 9 bands at this mini festival. Weezer said that they are planning on jamming out all the songs, which means that some ordinarily 3 minute songs will turn into 10 minute songs. Rivers Cuomo (Frontman of Weezer) said that he has devised a formula of picking which songs are going to be played each night. Picking songs from Blue, Pinkerton, Green and Maladroit out of hat, so that each set list is unique. This means that there is a chance you could hear some Pinkerton songs that haven't been played since the mid 90's.

The Strokes have jumped aboard the Enlightenment to play at only 5 of 23 shows. Including: Cleveland, Indianapolis, Columbus, Atlanta and Nashville. Even though there are only playing at five it is still a plus to have them at all, following the sucess of their debut album "Is This It".

For some reason Dashboard Confessional is joining up with Weezer. I think that DC is a little too slow and emo for me. I think they put him on for the girl Weezer fans and partly due to the sucess of their single, "Screaming Infedelities". (Sorry if I misspelled that DC fans)

Remember the punk band At The Drive-In? They had that song called "One Armed Scissors". Well anyway Sparta is At the Drive-In. With a change of name and a change of sound Sparta is a very welcomed band on the Enlightenment Tour.

And at the side stage there is fun for all ages. With Pat Wilson's (Drummer for Weezer) band "The Special Goodness". Pat plays lead guitar and does all the singing, this should be interesting. Also good friends of Rivers and long time touring mates AM Radio are back to head the second stage when The Special Goodness isn't around. Also coming along for the ride are bands known as Home Town Hero, Loudermilk and Rooney. I imagine that these bands would be pretty good, but I've never heard of any of them so I guess you'll be surprised.
